What a day!! My third and final child woke up early this morning and was sick all over the hallway carpet following the same unfortunate cold his brothers had in each of the two previous nights. Today was his first absence from school and it was the 100th day of school celebrations today. My poor Trevor. He slept until 1:42 pm and slept atop a pillow on the floor. I tried waking him up a few times to go in his bed and he just looked up at me, grabbed the blanket, and rolled over....lol.
I finally heard from my oldest son's coach and his practice days are opposite the twins which means I have to travel to the ball fields every Monday-Thursday-there goes my gas budget....lol. So tomorrow I will FINALLY meet Ronnie's new coach and new team members. I also found out that Ronnie during tryouts scored very high in points and one of the first ones picked...how wonderful. He is 9 yrs old but the same size as his 7 yr old brothers so to be the smallest kid out there with a bunch of 9 and 10 yr olds and perform so well makes him feel great (and Momma proud...hehe)!! So be prepared I will be writing about his team and practice tomorrow but later on at night because practice is from 7-8:30 pm. He is sooo excited as am I ....yeah!!!

Writing Daily 2008 Challenge
Gingerbug is at it again at MHH (magicalholidayhome.com) . She is challenging us to write a little something everyday and I am crazy enough to join in on the challenge!! So today I am still recooperating from my cold that began on Wednesday (4 days ago) and watching the Giants play in the Superbowl !!!!
Baseball season is about to begin for my boys with ther first games scheduled March 3rd and an Open House event on March 1st. We began practices with my twins team but haven't heard from my older son's coach yet so I don't know when his practices will be held yet. We absolutely LOVE baseball and to see my boys play baseball is even more exciting!!! The only downfall is that our weeknights are generally consumed and our dinners become less healthy with take outs and stadium foods!!! I am going to try my hardest to set up crockpot meals that the kids will eat. Being that my boys are sooo picky I don't know how successful it will be BUT at least I will try. I also want to set up snack bags with carrots and celery(with peanut butter) for them to snack on when they are on the bench!!! Wish me luck this season!!!

Test it, Taste it, Rate it 2008!!!
Wow can you believe another year has gone by SO quickly? Well as we all begin to prepare to Jumpstart into January we tend to reflect on what we didn't get done and would like to get done in the new year!! For some of us it includes downsizing, organizing, and budgeting. When I started to organize I realized I was left with PILES of recipes that have never been tried and I know I am NOT alone. So this year kicks off the first ever (voted by our members) Test it, Taste it, Rate it (TTR) Challenge At the end of each year we are graced with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. So we delegate a day for each month to bring us closer to our goals.
GREAT PUMPKIN DAY (GPD) is celebrated on the "last day" (30th or 31st) of each month.
TURKEY DAY (TD) is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of each month.
RUDOLPH DAY (RD) is celebrated on the 25th of each month.
These days have become our Test it, Test it, Rate it Days!! Being that all three of them generally fall within the same week I have chosen the 13th as "my" GPD (31 backwards and spooky superstition number...lol). This way I can break up my month a little easier budget wise with ingredients. Each month will feature a category of recipes. Three recipes will be featured that fit that particular category. The monthly categories featured will be as follows:
January- Main Dishes
February- Crockpot
March-Breakfast
April-Desserts
May-Sides
June-Breads
July-Appetizers
August-Drinks
September-Snacks
October-Freezer meals
November-Soups
December-Mixes
All recipes will be posted on the FIRST of the month in HOLIDAY COOKING so you have time to plan and prepare any or all of the recipes. If there are any particuar recipes you want to try in any of these categories please PM me so we can do our best to incorporate them. Always make sure to credit the original source of any recipe shared here at MHH.After we are done with the recipe we will be sharing what we thought in a Tested, Tasted, Rated post each month throughout the year!!! I look forward to a MAGICAL and GREAT 2008 with all of you!!!

2007 in a Nutshell!!
Ronnie turned 8 in January, I turned 31 in March, and the twins turned 7 last friday and that's just the start. The boys played baseball and did very well. Ronnie made allstars but in the tournament they fell. Baseball season came again in the fall,Ronnie moved up to the minors and played real baseball. Trevor and Travis had a graduation from Kindergarten and boy are they smart, they were top of their class complete with gold tassels, what a great start!!Then August came and moved up they did, from first grade and third went my three kids. The first of December came around with new friends-our elves Taffy, Tandy, and Rishi arrived in a little red sled!! They came from the North Pole and had a long flight and we wake up each morning with a mischievous delight. They climb on our counters and bring us little gifts, On Christmas Eve they leave with the jolly St. Nick. So as you can see our lives have been filled with fun, Merry Christmas to your family each and everyone!!

"Elfcapades"
Our elves had an exciting first day here in our home!!
First the introductions.... Our new elves came with a first name, receive my boys' last name, and get a middle name courtesy of my boys. So our new family members are Taffy(no middle name yet-my son apparently doesn't want to use HIS middle name like his brothers did), Tandy Jordan, and Rishi George!!!
Taffy, Tandy, and Rishi have been very excited. My boys showed them around the house, we took them to work with us, and after work we went to the town parade!!! Taffy, Tandy, and Rishi were able to signal to Santa that all was alright before Santa headed back off to the North Pole!!!
Last night the elves took it a little easy on Mommy. They left some cracker crumbs behind, they climbed all over the chairs, and one was even found on the vacuum handle. Taffy must have wanted to clean up his mess until someone woke up and he turned back into a doll!!! Oh well, it's the thought that counts.
Today we took the elves to church and to religion class!! We will also take them later on to help clean the church and then to my job again.

The Elves are arriving
Tonight is the night that Santa drops off his elves to lots of lucky families. Our family is lucky enough to receive three elves. Ronnie, Trevor, and Travis are looking forward to their arrival. This is our first year with the elves and we have heard they can be a little mischiefy at night. Tonight I will take the boys shopping to buy a "gift" for the elves. We know they will need sleeping bags so that will probably be our first purchase. I can't wait to find out their names!!!
